Annual Charity Football Match

The annual Charity Challenge Cup Match for The Feakins Trophy, between The Hackney Learning Trust and Shenfield AFC, was held last Sunday in Shenfield attracting well over 150 people.

Taking the form of a Family Fun Day and Barbecue, a good time was had by all with the children enjoying bouncy castles, penalty kick and golf games. While a 5-a-side football tournament featuring eight teams was held before the afternoon challenge match.

Trustees Dorothy Feakins and Ian Barney were pleased to see so many people from Hackney and friends of Stuart attending. They praised and appreciated the efforts of the Shenfield committee for arranging the event.

Unfortunately for Steve Herbert and the Trust team, despite taking a 2-1 lead, the cup was retained by the home side with a 5-2 victory after a close, spirited, and enjoyable game.

Andrew Feakins presented "Feaks" trophy to Michael Short the Shenfield captain with the outstanding player award going to Dwayne Malcolm-Worrell. Andrew praised both teams for their efforts on a hot afternoon.
